We have over 3,000 trees to choose from this year, so you may want to forego the tagging and simply come cut a tree. When you arrive, come by the barn and you'll be given a strip of flagging tape with your name on it to tie to your tree. Bow saws are provided if you wish to cut your own tree. Our workers will be glad to assist you in cutting a tree and getting it back to the barn, if you desire. Once back at the barn, your tree will be put on a shaker which takes care of a lot of those pesky needles. We then remove any excess stump and measure the tree for pricing. Virginia Pines, Leyland Cypress, Varigated Leylands, Carolina Sapphires, and Blue Ice start at $7.00 per foot. Fresh cut Fraser Fir from the Blue Ridge Mountains will be available beginning Thanksgiving Day. The Fraser Fir's will be sold at market price.
Many times a beautiful tree is passed over because it has a crooked stem. We know how aggravating it can be when you attempt to get such a tree to sit straight in a conventional stand. We have solved this problem with our special stands and drilling machine. We sight the tree to assure its sitting straight, then using a tapered bit, we drill a hole in the base of the tree. Our stands have a spike in the center of the water bowl. All you have to do is slide the stand on and the tree sits straight. Stands cost $45.00, $55.00, and $65.00 depending on the size. Commercial stands cost $130.00.
